    FROM DUBLIN
    From Dublin take the M4 toll motorway (signposted Sligo/ Galway. Leave the M4 at junction 11, to join the M6 motorway signposted Galway. Leave the M6 at junction 14 taking the second exits on both roundabouts onto N6 for Galway. Continue on the N6 entering Craughwell . At Oranbeg roundabout take the 1st exit onto the N18 for Limerick. At Kilcolgan turn right onto the N67 for Kinvara and continue on to Ballyvaughan. In Ballyvaughan you will come to a T-junction, turn right for Fanore onto the R477, the coast road. Fanore is approx 6 miles from Ballyvaughan.

    FROM SHANNON AIRPORT

    Take the N18 going north to Ennis / Galway. Take the N85 exit for Ennistymon / the Burren and follow the signs for Ennistymon. Continue through Ennistymon and onto Lisdoonvarna. Do not turn into Lisdoonvarna but continue on the R477 taking the coast road to Ballyvaughan. Fanore is located about 8 miles from here.

    Fanore Beach - Pristing Sandy Beach popular with Surfers
    *Caher Valley Loop - Its one of the Burren's most popular walk with start and finish point in Fanore. The Caher Valley runs down to Fanore between Slieve Elva and Gleninagh. It has one of the few rivers in the Burren, the Caher, which cuts its way down through the rock and glacial deposit to emerge on the strand at Fanore and enter the sea. This loop walk is part of the network of walks under the Shannon Region Trails Programme and is marked using the standard red Shannon Region Trails directional arrows.
    *Father Ted - The popular TV show Father Ted was filmed in Fanore and the local villages.
