Lang Tengah has no roads; travel around the island is by boat, kayak or just by snorkeling. The waters surrounding the island are shallow. Large boats are not allowed to dock at the beaches. Tourists must transfer from larger ferries to smaller speedboats to reach the beach.

Lang Tengah is a quiet island, which consists of only three operational hotels, and one derelict one. Activities provided by the hotels include snorkeling and diving. The waters surrounding the island are abundant with coral and small fish. Care should be taken to not disturb the marine life as it is very fragile.

Volunteering: You can volunteer your time with Lang Tengah Turtle Watch [url=http://www.langtengahturtlewatch.org],]an organisation that focuses on incubating sea turtle eggs to save them from poachers and help boost population numbers.
The team lives in open-air jungle huts just behind the beach on Turtle Bay. Volunteers participate in nighttime patrols around the island in search of nesting mothers, relocation of eggs back to Turtle Bay and then monitoring of the nests in the daytime. Afternoons are free for volunteers to go cliff jumping, jungle trekking, snorkelling or relaxing on the private beach! This small, and usually young, group of people eat sleep and live together - if you're adventurous, energetic and passionate about helping the environment whilst having a real jungle-living experience this is the organisation to join! The site is operational between March and October every year.

Tourists on the island are also invited to come and see nest inspections at the Lang Tengah Turtle Watch Sanctuary, where staff, interns and volunteers will give you a talk on all things turtle. More details about visiting or volunteering with Lang Tengah Turtle Watch can be found on their website or their Facebook page.

Diving trips are organised by the various resorts; night diving is also available. Divers can rent [[Scuba diving|scuba[/url]] equipment from the resorts, which also refill tanks as part of the rental package.

Snorkeling boat trips to [wiki=8731c78e7bc11bc723e936bbb4303029]Redang[/wiki] Marine Park (45 minutes away) are also offered.
