To go to Farsund by car, you have to follow the E39 "highway" to the city of [wiki=e4192e01e02b6f18b6c4c55f449568a1]Lyngdal[/wiki] and then follow Rv43 from [wiki=e4192e01e02b6f18b6c4c55f449568a1]Lyngdal[/wiki] to [wiki=a3face4f68f4cbcbdc1852787ad46ebe]Farsund[/wiki]. Be noted that there is a tollbooth between Lyngdal and Farsund.
There is also the possibility of sailing or motoring your boat to Farsund. Farsund has one of Norway's finest guest harbors. During the summer, the local watch-woman brings newspapers and pastries to the tourists visiting Farsund by boat. Her round goes around the docks in town. Staying in Farsund by boat is free.
There are buses leaving for Farsund and Vanse from [wiki=54e85cbe1dcafdb11da5123993113fca]Kristiansand[/wiki] several times a day by service of "Sørlandsruta". "Sørlandsruta" buses are identified by their white paint and red logo. To get to Farsund from [wiki=dd755cfcbe227d7271b91c1be176fe6f]Stavanger[/wiki] you'll have to take one of the many expressbuses that drive between [wiki=dd755cfcbe227d7271b91c1be176fe6f]Stavanger[/wiki], through [wiki=54e85cbe1dcafdb11da5123993113fca]Kristiansand[/wiki] to [wiki=f4830432874f86d2e2a1a5f2dbebbc80]Oslo[/wiki]. Change buses in [wiki=e4192e01e02b6f18b6c4c55f449568a1]Lyngdal[/wiki] and take a bus to [wiki=a3face4f68f4cbcbdc1852787ad46ebe]Farsund[/wiki].
